We are celebrating over here. Celebrating because it looks as though this move to DC was
definitely the right one.
Celebrating because all of the hard work, the traveling all over the US,
the busking in Chinatown night after night…it looks like it’s all going to pay
off.
Jon was signed to a small independent record label last
night.
This is just the beginning of lots more hard work, and there
are no guarantees. But it’s
progress. We’re moving in the
right direction. And Jon is in
just the place he’s been wanting to be for so long: ready to create, with a strong team of supporters behind him
and access to great writers, producers, and an amazing recording studio. This guy just won the golden
ticket.
So we’re happy and thankful, glad we like it here so much,
and glad for the opportunities we have.
We’re excited for January when we’ll finally meet this new member of our
family. And it looks like DC
will be home for at least the next four or five years…although this wasn’t the
original plan (I like to keep moving and already have my sights set on our next
home, hopefully overseas), I’m sure it will be great. Five years means we‘ll have time to explore this city top to
bottom and squeeze every bit of juicy goodness out of it. Five years also means that our
baby has time to grow into a little person and make memories here.
So we’re popping the champagne over here (Jon literally,
with his new team after he signed, and me figuratively with a bottle of spiced
apple juice after he got home last night) and enjoying our weekend. I’m working on creating the world’s
best DC to-do list, since it looks like I’ll have plenty of time to get
everything crossed off (said to-do list might as well be called places-to-eat
list, though, since that’s mainly what I’m interested in.) Stick with us, because it looks like
we’re going to have some fun over here!

congratulations! so, so exciting.
