scenes from a birthday

Friday, May 10, 2013

My sweet husband took me to Atlanta yesterday to see the Frida Kahlo + Diego Rivera show for my birthday.  Sweet man he is, non?   The show - and the rest of the High Museum of Art - was amazing.  A peaceful slice of beauty in the midst of an exhausting month.  We're moving soon, guys!

We had to head back home for one of his shows last night, so after the museum we just had time for a quick lunch.  I forgot who recommended the West Egg Cafe to us, but many thanks to them!!  It was just right.  They serve this cute little "picnic plate" that was the exact perfect mix of kitch and delicious.  I also had the most delicious vegetable soup of my life and these amazing little Mexican spicy hot chocolate cake balls.

Would you believe me if I told you that as soon as we got back home I headed out for a cheese and chocolate fondue dinner with friends?
27!  Here we go.

  2. West egg sounds like a lovely cafe! I wonder if the name comes from The Great Gatsby? It's all over the place these days with the movie release!
